Steiger Beirut: Reaching Globalized Middle Eastern Youth

For three months, the Steiger team in Ukraine had been working with partners in Moscow, asking for legal permission to come and preach on the streets of Russia’s capital city.

On any given weekend, we are seeing many creative street teams boldly preaching the Gospel in cities all over the Russian-speaking world, parts of Europe, the Middle East, New Zealand, and South America.

One second I was talking with my dad and Valery (one of Steiger’s Ukrainian missionaries), and an instant later, it felt as though a bomb had gone off.

There is move of God happening in Colombia! In December, 134 people from more than 40 churches in 5 cities attended the first Steiger Compact School in Colombia.

I just returned from the crazy and dangerous city of Bogotá, Colombia, with Chad Johnson and my son Ben, where we had a Provoke & Inspire conference designed to challenge Christian artists to use their God-given creativity to proclaim the Gospel outside the church.

Hailing from Belarus, the Steiger band Nuteki recently completed a ground-breaking tour in Far Eastern Russia.

The band Korn has sold over 35 million copies of their albums worldwide, earning two Grammy Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards.

“Greenpeace saves whales, Jesus saves people” reads one of the banners that we hang from church buildings and bridges in Switzerland.

We have a family motto: “Good and hard always go together.” I heard this all the time growing up. Maybe it doesn’t seem like such a revolutionary thought, but this simple concept has had an enormous impact on my life.

At the start of another year, it’s really encouraging and humbling to look back and see all that God has done through Steiger. What started as a loose network of friends around the world has grown into a true worldwide organization with a singular God-given mission:
To reach and disciple the Global Youth Culture for Jesus.

Millions of young people are being slaughtered all over the world by the lies that they hear! When will more Christian artists stand up and tell them the truth?

Patrycja came to the Sfera tent café during the Polish SLOT festival in 2015. She enjoyed the atmosphere so much that she asked to be a Sfera volunteer in 2016. She joined the team with 16 other Sfera/Steiger volunteers. With time spent together, many talks and prayers, she decided she also wanted to follow Jesus.
