International Newsletter March 2010

Aaron and Jennifer PierceDear Friends,

Since 2005, I have been a member of No Longer Music and I’ve seen people find Jesus in some really “dark” places, including Muslims in Southern Turkey and atheists in punk nightclubs in Europe. Download pdf

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” - Luke 12:48

This verse is very important to me, because I know that God has entrusted me with much. Born and raised in Amsterdam, I saw firsthand the transformational power of the Gospel through my parent’s ministry. As a kid, I had the privilege of going on tour with No Longer Music and seeing that God is real and that He is powerful.

Response to a NLM Concert in PolandToday, I am passionate about challenging other Christian musicians and artists to boldly share the Gospel through their music/art in secular places.

The need is great! Today, No Longer Music has more ministry opportunities than they can meet. The band has received invitations from all over the world, and every year must turn down many excellent opportunities for outreach because we simply do not have the time and capacity to meet all of them. In other words, the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few (Matthew 9:37). This is because there are not enough bands today who, like No Longer Music, exist solely to evangelize the lost rather than to be commercially successful.

In response to the great need to raise up new evangelistic artists, we have developed Steiger’s Association of Evangelistic Artists. The Association exists to challenge and equip Christian artists to boldly use their God-given artistic talent and platform to share the powerful Gospel message outside the church.

Music and other forms of art are one of the most effective tools for reaching secular youth. There are Christian artists all over the world who have a passion for reaching the lost through music and art, yet unfortunately they do not have the structure, role models and training necessary to effectively do so. Therefore, many of these Christian artists limit themselves to playing in Christian venues where most lost people will never venture.

No Longer Music is a role model to many Christian artists and so with the addition of Steiger’s organizational structure and support, many of these Christian artists can be trained and equipped to reach the multitudes of lost people outside of the church.

The Association follows a three-step process:

1. Train:
a. Evangelistic Artists Seminars (Led by David Pierce)
b. Steiger’s Radical Missionary Training School (in Germany and New Zealand)

2. Equip:
a. Membership in Steiger’s Association of Evangelistic Artists & Adherence its Covenant
b. Pastoral Care & Accountability
c. Annual Evangelistic Artists Conference
d. Access to Steiger’s Evangelistic Record Label & Creative Centers

3. Release:
a. Evangelistic Tours in conjunction with Steiger’s network of tour organizers/promoters around the world

Our goal is to develop 100 trained and equipped members of Steiger’s Association of Evangelistic Artists by 2015. These members will proclaim the Gospel to over 1 million young people annually and, by God’s power, tens of thousands will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The evangelistic artists will partner with Steiger’s discipleship, church-planting and follow up efforts.

Also, my dad – David Pierce - recently completed a manuscript for a new book for Evangelistic Artists entitled “The Narrow Road: 10 Principles that will revolutionize Christian art”. This book will serve as key teaching material for Steiger’s schools and seminars.

Please pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as we continue to develop this Association of Evangelistic Artists. We need your continued prayer and financial support to see this vision actualized.

Steiger International

This month’s newsletter was written by Aaron Pierce. Aaron is the oldest son of David and Jodi Pierce. He and his wife, Jennifer, are missionaries of Steiger International. They are members of “No Longer Music” and Aaron leads a local Steiger ministry in Minneapolis, MN (USA) that uses music, art & personal relationship building to proactively bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the highly influential clubs, bars and music venues.

Prayer Needs

  1. Pray for the team that will bne helping Jodi during the Radical Missions Training School that begins on the 6th of April near Dresden, Germany. Pray also for the students coming, that God will prepare their hearts.
  2. Please continue to pray for Michael Sengle who is still looking for a property near Dresden for our International Headquarters and Missionary Training Center. Pray for wisdom and for the finances to come in to purchase and renovate a property.
  3. Pray that God gives David Pierce God’s anointing and the right message in each place he speaks during the remainder of his speaking tour in New Zealand.

Growth & Challenges

This is an extremely exciting time for us at Steiger!

Doors are opening and God is moving. Over the last few years, God has enabled us to send new ministries, evangelists, church planters and discipleship teams around the world to reach the lost secular youth culture for Christ.

Our greatest challenge going forward is keeping up with all the opportunities God is giving us. As we continue to grow, so do our expenses and responsibility to support and take care of our missionaries and ministries.

As a result of all of this growth, Steiger's general fund reached critically low levels in early February.

To help solve the issue, we sent out a mass email in mid-February asking 100 partners to make a special one-off gift of $100 (in addition to regular giving).

Well, we have been amazed by the response and are so encouraged by God's continual provision. In just over a week, we received $9,000 in special gifts. Thank you so much for your generous support!

As God continues to lead Steiger, we need people who will partner with us through regular giving.

Please prayerfully consider how you can be involved. You can sign up for automatic monthly giving (by credit card or bank account) by clicking the "donate now" banner on this website.
