Ted Shimer

Ted is the Founder of The Freedom Fight, an online porn addiction recovery program. He received his MABS from Dallas Seminary and was trained as a Pastoral Sex Addiction Professional-Supervisor. Ted Shimer has mentored men since 1991 with the collegiate ministry Student Mobilization. Ted has helped people overcome the bondage of pornography in the context of making disciples. Ted and his wife Amber have four adult children and live in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Sam Allberry

Sam is a pastor, apologist, author and speaker. He is the author of a number of books, including Is God Anti-Gay?; What God Has to Say About Our Bodies; Why Does God Care Who I Sleep With?; and 7 Myths About Singleness.

Rachel Gilson

Rachel works for Cru on the leadership team for theological development and culture. She has a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is the author of Born Again This Way: Coming Out, Coming to Faith, and What Comes Next, and her writing has featured in Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, and Desiring God, among other places.

Rachel Gardner

Rachel Gardner has been working with young people, youth workers, church leaders and parents for more than two decades and has authored several books, including The Girl De-Construction Project, Cherished, Rise and The Dating Dilemma. Her latest book The Sex Thing re-imagines ways for the church to engage emerging generations with a biblical sexual ethic.

We live in a time of unprecedented global connectedness. An entire generation has grown up on video games, pornography, and social media. We are told that the key to happiness is found within. Just do what feels right for you. Don’t let anyone tell you who you are, or what you want.

This may sound liberating, but we are anything but free.

Devoid of a moral compass, an “anything goes” attitude has been adopted when it comes to sexuality. Sex is meaningless, gender a personal choice, and monogamy a joke.

We have become slaves to the ever-elusive high of sexual experiences. Widespread exposure to pornography is literally rewiring our brains and distorting our views on love and relationships.

This is leading to an epidemic of loneliness, anxiety, depression, and suicide.

Sadly, this generation is not looking to the church for answers. They see the church as judgemental, bigoted, and on the “wrong side of history.”

How can we show them the truth? How can we demonstrate the love of Jesus in a way they’ll understand?
