Seek God

"God Rewards Those Who Seek Him with a Desperate Heart" - Hebrews 11:6

The foundation of everything Steiger does stems from a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Steiger acknowledges that God is the source of all authority, power and opportunities and that apart from the work of the Holy Spirit, all our ministry efforts will be futile (John 15:5).

Therefore, passionately seeking God through diligent prayer, in-depth study of the Bible and heartfelt praise and worship is Steiger's first priority.

The Cross

"For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." - 1 Corinthians 2:2

Steiger aims to demonstrate the power of God by “lifting up the cross” outside of the church. The very core and power of the Gospel is the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Sadly, for many people the cross has become nothing more than a piece of jewelry. It has lost its meaning and has become a religious cliché.

In order to effectively demonstrate the cross, we must start with a deep personal revelation of the meaning of it. The cross shows the heart and love of the Father—a love so deep that he was willing to send what was most precious to Him: His son Jesus to die in our place. Though our sin separated us from God, He made a way for us to know Him again. The cross shows us how horrific sin and evil actually are and provides the only way we can be made clean. It is the most radical act of mercy and forgiveness in all of history and the basis of all of God's plans. It is why Jesus came.

"I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some." - 1 Corinthians 9:22

Steiger aims to relevantly (in terms of music, technology, language, symbols, etc.) communicate the message of the Cross in a “language” that the Global Youth Culture can understand—as modeled by Christ’s example and teaching. While at the same time, never changing, obscuring, or omitting the biblical Gospel message.

However, relevance goes far beyond external factors or outward appearances. It’s not about putting on a “costume” to reach the lost. We can wear all the right clothes and use all the right slogans, but still be completely out of touch with the real culture.

Steiger strives to push beyond the surface to connect with people in a real way. To be relevant, we must live a sacrificial life style, in which we come along side people, get to know their doubts, fears, struggles, frustrations, world-view, dreams and hopes and love them, so that they can relate to our message and life.

Additionally, Steiger acknowledges that relevance is not about popularity. Communicating the Gospel relevantly does not prevent us from being perceived as offensive or foolish. The Gospel is confrontational and will not be accepted by everyone.

“In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay. Some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” - 2 Timothy 2:20-21

Steiger values a holy and pure lifestyle out of a sincere desire to obey and serve God. Steiger takes sin seriously, embraces accountability, and its members hold each other to high standards.

Steiger knows that being in public ministry means we are an example for others and that God requires a higher standard from us (James 3:1). Therefore we limit our freedoms for the sake of others.

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” - Acts 4:13

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather a willingness to step through fear. Steiger believes this courage comes from a deep trust in God and His promises developed by diligent study of His word and daily commitment to seeking Him. As a person learns to trust God and step through fear, they will grow in their faith and their ability to overcome greater challenges in the future.

Steiger seeks the courage to defy conventional thinking, ask for extraordinary things of God, speak the truth boldly even if it is not popular, take great risks, and sacrifice safety, security and reputations all for the sake of the Gospel.

Statement of Faith

Steiger believes the Bible is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

Steiger believes in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory.

Steiger believes that for the salvation of lost and sinful human beings, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

Steiger believes in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

Steiger believes in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

Steiger believes that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Steiger believes in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender and class differences.
