Revolutionary Week

July 27th to August 4th, 2018

God’s heart is broken for this lost generation. The message of his love, the Gospel, is for everyone, and it is not right that young people today don’t get to hear because we’re not making it accessible to them. They don’t come to us, so we need to go to them.

Through this intense and life changing week, our hope is to inspire you to have a passionate faith in Jesus, and to share that with an urban, globalized generation that has often forgotten God. It is also an opportunity to get to know more about Steiger, and to become actively involved in missions.

Steiger missionaries and leaders from around the world join together at our international training centre in Krögis, Germany, to challenge you to reach the Global Youth Culture for Jesus. Times of prayer, worship and community will inspire you to seek God and know his calling on your life. Powerful teaching sessions will provide crucial insights in the globalised culture we live in, and equip you with principles and models for relevantly sharing Jesus, and making disciples among young people who would not usually walk into a church.

But we can’t just talk about it, we need to go!

So from the contemplative atmosphere of the Steiger International Centre, we will head out together to bring hope in Jesus to the chaotic scene of Polish Woodstock. This, the largest open air festival in Europe, drawing around 800.000 young people, is a great place to share the Good News. Over the years, on mission to this festival, we’ve found people to be open, hungry for truth and very willing to stop and listen, often for hours.

This year you will be able to join our team! We run a free breakfast under a big army tent and spend our days walking around the festival, talking to people and organizing creative interventions to share the Gospel. It is a great way to put all we learn at the Revolutionary Week into practice.

Important Information

REVOLUTIONARY WEEK ARRIVAL TRANSPORTATION: We do NOT provide transportation for guests from airports, train or bus stations. From Dresden you can take a train or bus to Meissen. From Meissen there is a bus to Krögis which drops you at the edge of our facility!

WOODSTOCK WARNING: This will be an exciting and powerful experience, but for many this may be challenging.
  • It can be an intense atmosphere with a lot of drinking, drugs and “festival-type” behaviour.
  • The infrastructure at Woodstock is very simple, and showering is not always possible (some simple outdoor showers are available, but always very busy).
  • There are food stalls around the festival.
  • This environment is not suitable for children.

WOODSTOCK TRANSPORTATION: On Wednesday the 1st of August we will have a bus taking all participants from Krögis to Woodstock (Kostrzyn nad Odrą, Poland). On Saturday the 4th of August, all participants will need to plan their own return transportation. We may help you figure out a way back home, but you will need to be responsible for covering the cost and making the final plans.

VERY IMPORTANT: Please arrange a suitable travel insurance/health coverage for your time in Krögis and at Polish Woodstock.
