The Dresden City Festival is a famous event that draws people not only from all over Germany, but from Poland and other surrounding countries as well. The average attendance for the weekend has been around 500,000 in recent years.
This year was no different, and we were able to set up our stage, as well as our follow-up tent called “Sfera” next to a statue called the Golden Rider, right outside of the old city in the center of the city. Our stage is an official part of the festival program and we are actually sponsored by the city! This is remarkable when you consider that we are in one of the most atheist parts of East Germany.
On the night of our show, it was supposed to rain; an 80% chance actually. We prayed with faith like in many other times, that God would hold back the rain from the concert. Ominous black clouds approached as we were getting ready to play and miraculously God held back the rain back once again and it was a quiet still warm night the whole time we played. (It didn't start raining until well after we were done talking and praying with people and packed up.)
Several thousand watched when David preached powerfully at the end and invited people to give their lives to Jesus. While some laughed and mocked many others raise their hands and said they wanted to know Jesus! People prayed all over the place to receive Jesus, and many came into the Sfera tent, including two young men from Damascus, Syria who said they now understood who Jesus is and said they wanted to follow him. They returned the next day and helped tear down and pack up the Sfera tent - staying until the very end to help.
It was another powerful night - the 59th and final show of the 2016 tour. Thank you so much to all who supported us. Thousands of lives were impacted and transformed all over the world on this tour! We could not have done this without your prayers and support.
