No Longer Music Tour

She was from a hard core Muslim country in Africa where if you dare to follow Jesus it can cost you your life.  She came from a prominent family and was on vacation in Turkey when someone invited her to our evangelistic concert 11 months ago in the ancient city of Antioch.  After the concert one of the girls from our team asked her what she thought and if she understood the message.

She was amazed at what she saw and wanted to know if it was a true story.   She was told that it was a true story and if she had ever heard about Jesus before.  She said this was the first time that she ever heard about Jesus.  The girl from our team (I have to keep her and the girl anonymous for safety reasons) explained to her how Jesus died on the cross for us.  She explained how He rose from the dead and defeated the death sentence over our lives and because of what Jesus did we can know God again and have a relationship with Him.

"Does this mean I can have Jesus as a friend all the time?" she asked.  "Yes, in every situation in your life." our team member explained.  Moved by the power of the Holy Spirit she prayed right there and asked Jesus to come into her life.  After she prayed she was so full of joy she could hardly speak.

When she returned home to her family they told her that she couldn't follow Jesus because Jesus was only a prophet and she was a Muslim.  Confused by this she has been in contact with the girl from our team ever since to talk about Jesus.  We also put her in contact with an Arabic Bible website.  Since the day she prayed in Antioch she said God has been answering her prayers and something has changed in her life but she still has lots of questions.  crosspicShe hopes to meet us in Beirut in July to talk more.  Please pray that she is able to meet us there and that what God started in her life will continue to grow.

As I write this we are in the middle of preparations for our upcoming evangelistic tour.  I am overwhelmed by the opportunities that lay before us and am so aware of how much we desperately need Jesus.  We have four areas where we need to be covered in prayer.

Prayer Requests

  • We are driving our equipment from Poland to Lebanon to Turkey, to Croatia and to Finland to cut back on costs. It is to dangerous to drive through Syria so we have to find a ship that will take the drivers and our van to Beirut, Lebanon from Turkey.  We also need to find a reliable company to fly our gear into Berlin and later in August from Helsinki to Reykjavik and from Reykjavik to Minneapolis.  Because we are flying very specialized special effects, (like an exploding coffin to show the resurrection) it's not an easy process to clear customs.  So please pray for God to make a easy path for our drivers and our equipment.

  • Pray for peace when we are in Beirut.  Pray that God will put His angels around our team and that the Cross can be boldly lifted up in that war torn city.  Pray that in Turkey that fear will be broken and hundreds will come to Jesus.  Pray that in Croatia, Finland and Iceland hearts will melt and that people will have the chance to see the real Jesus.  Pray at the Life Light Festival thousands will come to Jesus. Last year more than 300 thousand people attended this festival so I am believing for thousands to come to Jesus for the first time after I speak.

  • Pray that the remaining funds for the tour come in. God has provided over 100,000 dollars for the tour so far so we only need $30,000US dollars to cover the rest of our tour costs but we need these funds to come in quickly!!

  • Pray for health, protection and boldness for my family and our team as we proclaim the name of Jesus where He hasn't been proclaimed before.  The battle is real and we need your prayers.

Time to Act
In 2007, God allowed us to preach the message of the Cross on the streets of Muslim villages and towns in Turkey. Despite threats and opposition, scores and scores of people responded to Jesus. Hundreds also responded during that tour in Kyrgyzstan and on the streets of Germany and Iceland.

In July and August of 2008, Steiger’s evangelistic team, No Longer Music, will conduct 21 evangelistic concerts in Poland, Lebanon, Turkey, Croatia, Finland, Iceland and the USA. We expect thousands of young Muslim and secular young people to hear the Gospel message, and hundreds to accept Jesus for the first time – but we need your help! The TIME TO ACT is now. Could God be calling you to reach the secular and Muslim youth for Jesus?
